Hi all

This is offtopic, but as this is such a knowledgable
group...

I have an external USB hard disk which I'd like to be
able to spin down. The disk is IDE, but is accessed via
usb-storage & ide-scsi, so it appears as /dev/sda and
the usual hdparm -y does not work on scsi devices --
has anyone manage to do this?

Thanks

Jim
