[ltp] Floppy drive and 755

I have been trying to get a floppy drive to work on a 755ce: no success, even after swapping out the drive for one I know to work on a 750cx. I tried both with and without the kernel parameter "floppy=thinkpad". However, on a 755cx, the floppy works ONLY IF I do not use the same kernel parameter; it doesn't work if I use the parameter.

Is there something special to look out for with these models? I am trying to eliminate a bad floppy controller.

Thank you,
