which "pointed the finger" at sawfish, which indeed uses alt-arrow to 
switch between workspaces (at least on my default config).  I changed 
sawfish to use ctrl-alt-arrow and it indeed left alt-arrow alone for 
mozilla to consume.  RSI is a bit farther away :-)
