[ltp] tp600: lots of strange questions

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a used tp600 which i'd like to use as a terminal
interface for various things.

Since it should be always on and i wouldn't like to have any noises
coming from it i'd like to remove the harddrive (will see if i fit a
system onto floppy or use a flash card) and disable the fan.

The latter is of course the part where my question points to.
Does anyone have experience with this notebook (or any other thinkpad)
and a disabled or broken fan?

Is it possible to lower the system bus clock rate though easy
modification of the mainboard (so cpu clock goes down)?
(Did this when transforming an old desktop into a linux router, where it
works great.)

Does anyone have experience with remote sound output (using nas or
something like that)? (I'd possibly like to put mp3 sound that's played
on a different machine through the tp600 to my stereo.)

Is it possible to open the display to 180°?

Anyone having DirectFB experience on this machine?
Is DirectFB cpu intense?

Andre.
