There are at least two different modem types in T30s. Many T30s without
Bluetooth have the modem in the CDC-slot. It's called MDC (modem daughter
card).

In T30s with Bluetooth the CDC-slot ist used by the BDC (Bluetooth
daughter card). The modem ist on a mini PCI card (together with 811.2b
WLAN). I have such a model (236697G) and the modem doesn't work so far.
Slmdm loads as usual, I can give AT commands but never get a connection.
All commands doing anything "real" on the line (ATDT, ATA) fail always
with NO DIALTONE or NO CARRIER.

Here ist the T30 System parts list:

You can see what type of modem you have (by model number). Anyone using
the "802.11b/Modem" (WLAN+modem mini PCI card) successfully?
