[ltp] 390E long floppy seek time at boot

Oops, my bad. I answered before digesting the entire complaint. That's what
I get for trying to get a reply off while rushing to get out the door. Sorry
'bout that. Once the system boots, does it seem to read a disk in the floppy
drive in a normally acceptable amount of time, or is it sluggish then also?
You could have a drive that going bad. Do you have access to another floppy
drive that you can try?

As to your second issue (the one I was in too much of a hurry to address),
why are you using a reboot command to shut down the machine? Anyway, if you
must power down without using the "-h" switch, you might try to hold the
switch for a few seconds. I know I used to have to do this with my
daughter's DeskPro under Win98 until they came out with a patch for a
shutdown issue. It wouldn't powerdown at shut down (yes, the registry key
was set correctly), so I had to choose reboot, then wait until just before
Windows began to load. I could then get it switched off.
