Hi,
I am using a thinkpad T21 with win2k and linux installed.
I am experiencing serious problems with system freezes,
especially in linux. The freezes are quite reproducible.

In win2k the freezes are rare, and mostly occur when I use
the media player and I resize the player's window, or I click
on the seek bar to jump forward or backward. But really they
are not much of a problem.

In linux on the other hand, the freezes are very frequent.
They occur only when I am running X. Again the system freezes
very easily when I resize or shade some window. But they also
occur even if I don't do any interactive work (eg only xmms is
playing some mp3s). This renders linux pretty much unusable.

Has anybody experienced similar problems? Could the problem be
some linux kernel paramer or some bad settings in X configuration
file?

TIA

Manolis
