Get yourself into the non-working state.  Then show us the output of
the "ip addr" and "ip route" commands.  If you don't have the "ip"
command, use "ifconfig" and "route -n".

P.S. Don't try to hide the IP addresses in the output. It will just make
it harder for us to help you.
