No dice. I built a kernel with your config (+devfs required by gentoo),
but the machine rebooted soon as I inserted mpi350.o. So this is quite
possibly some quirk in my hardware. The next thing I am going to try is
2.6.0-test1 with the airo-linux driver (as Peter Johanson suggested) and
see how far I get.
