I'll disagree on this one. I'm in the process of getting parts to repair a bad
screen or inverter on a 770. It seems to be much simpler to take the lid apart
(3 screws and slide the bezel off a series of hooks), than to detach the lid,
which is a real pain to get back on.

The inverter itself seems to be pretty easy to find and replace. Just two
connectors.
