all that patch did was add DMA support for the IDE chipset in centrino.
and if you want a 2.4 version pick it up here

fwiw, i've had no troubles (other than lack of IDE DMA) with a
2.4.21-pre5-ac2 barebones kernel on one of the toshiba centrino boxes (the
model# escapes me).  but i'm not doing anything fancy at all -- i haven't
even tried suspend/resume yet.
