[ltp] irda on T23 with Debian

I'm trying to use the irda port of my T23 under debian with kernel 2.4.18

I've installed the packages irda-common and irda-tools

But I don't mange to get something running.

One point is that I don't find which chip is used and findchip -v doesn't
return anything

So if some one knows how to configure, I'll appreciate any help
