[ltp] Mandrake 9.1 and T30

I've been using Mandrake on various machines for some time but recently 
acquired a T30 and installed Mandrake 9.1. The install went fine except 
that it neglected to install the pcmcia package and then I had to fiddle 
with the /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia file to get the operating system to 
recognize the modem card.
Here is my only remaining issue: suspend works very poorly if at all. 
Occasionally after pressing the suspend key combination (Fn-F3) the 
machine will suspend and then reactivate when asked to. More commonly it 
just hangs, especially when asked to wake up. This is quite annoying and 
has forced me to switch my wife to the WinXp side of the machine because 
she can't handle the difficulties involved in rebooting. Anyone else 
have this problem and find a solution?
