Assuming you have a previous backup on the disk, rysnc will be
substantially faster, though you would have to run it per partition. On
my desktop, I have an 80GB, of which 40GB is data, and a removable 40GB
drive, which rysnc's my 25GB of linux data (my fat32 partition has some
temorary stuff that differs at present that I don't want to merge yet)
every time I boot up or down (via an init script). Normally, all 25GB
gets sync'ed in under 3 minutes.
