In the notes on the BIOS for T40 (and other) models it
mentions this:

  - (New) Support IBM 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter.

So if you want it, you may be able to purchase it separately
and somehow get it recognized and working.  Linux, ongoing
education for techs. :-)
