Hello,

I plan to purchase a thinkpad from IBM these days and want to be sure
the wireless hardware will be operatable. There are two possibilities
for me (I can get them cheaper through the university):

T40 23739 CU
with the Standard IBM 802.11 a/b Hardware

or the

T41p 2373GGU
with the Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection 802.11b

Now none of the persons at IBM I contacted seem to be competent on this
purpose. I get answers as precice as "I have inquired and found out that
all components within the standard configuration of any T40 or T41 are
tested and support Linux."

Is it still true that the only Wireless Card supported by Linux is the
one from Cisco? Or are there drivers for the other cards as well in the
meantime?

Many thanks if you can help me,
Raphael
