http://fedora.redhat.com - Redhat has discontinued Redhat Linux (as in
Redhat Linux 9) and changed the project to 'Fedora Core' ( as in - the
next release is Fedora Core 1)

"Severn" is now the beta for 'Fedora Core'

Don't know - as I don't use Redhat Network. It might upgrade all
packages to severn. However you can try and installing the latest
rawhide kernel - and see if it works:

rpm -ivh http://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/rawhide/i386/RedHat/RPMS/kernel-2.4.22-1.2086.nptl.i686.rpm

But as someone else pointed out - it could be an XFree86 issue - in
which case - you'll need the complete upgrade.
