Even if one has a perfectly working installation, it would be a good
idea to demand restore CDs immeadeately after purchase.  They will be
nice to have when/if one needs to reinstall 2 years later when the
waranty has expired.

The T30 restore CDs worked fine on my laptop, touching only the first
windows partition on the drive, leaving my Linux partitions intact.
