[ltp] System performance

The two major "desktops" available on RH (KDE and Gnome) are both, IMHO,
slow and bloated.

I just moved to a 1.3MHz Centrino and tried KDE, it's still slow and
bloated.  :^)

I've gone back to good old iceWm.  snappy.

Still, it's a bit of work for a casual user.  Might be better of with
KDE/Gnome.
