Woohoo!!
It works now!
Thanks to all who helped (Tino, Michael, Juergen, Ramon & 
honey@gneek.com). Yes, the dri module was somehow interfering with the 
hibernation. I commented it out in my XF86Config-4 file and now it works 
just fine. And since I don't play games under Linux, it's no big deal.
