Hey. My new T40 is only getting about 2 to 2.5 hours of battery life (as
reported by apm), as oppposed to the expected 5. I am running Debian with
kernel version 2.4.21, as well as apm and the thinkpad and thinkpadpm
modules. I've tried running apmiser, but it doesn't appear to do much.
My BIOS settings are configured for maximum battery life when not running
on AC. /proc/cpuinfo reports that, although my processor is 1.6 ghz, I'm
only running at 598.076 mhz when using batteries. I'm not running cpufreq
or cpudyn, but I would think that they wouldn't do much given that cpuinfo
reports 600 mhz operating speed. Do you have any idea how to improve my
battery life? Thanks.
