   Dear Mr. Kaplan,

   I've added another 512Mbytes to my thinkpad A30P -- now it has 1024Mbytes of RAM and like you the kernel did not 'see' it entirely until I have deployed a new kernel. The kernel has the following memory options:

# CONFIG_NOHIGHMEM is not set
CONFIG_HIGHMEM4G=y
CONFIG_HIGHIO=y

   And this is the output of command 'free':

             total used free shared buffers cached
Mem:       1031136     137132     894004          0      15428      65276
-/+ buffers/cache:      56428     974708
Swap:       975200          0     975200

   No other options related to memory were added in the file /ect/lilo.conf.

   I hope that will help. Please, feel free to contact me if you need help in this matter.

   Sincerely yours,

   J.C. Oliveira
