I apologize if this is a FAQ but I'm wondering if someone can explain to me the usage of apmd. I've not run Linux on a laptop for too long and it seems to me to be more of a hassle on my 600X than anything else. Suspend and resume seems to work fine w/o it and enabling it seems to make it take longer to suspend. Can someone tell me what the advantages to using it would be?
