[ltp] R40 and ndiswrapper

hello,
i got a new wlan-ap and would like to test a little.
networking works as well. 
But I would like to test around a bit with scanning the ap, what
requires to switch the card into promiscuite-/Monitor-mode.
I am notable to do so... (iwconfig tells me: not possible)

the card i'm using is that centrino Intel PRO 2100 wireless (miniPCI)

has anybody an idea or experience?
