Oh well. yes :) I should read emails before answering...

If it is a Celeron it should be CONFIG_X86_ACPI_CPUFREQ or=20
CONFIG_X86_SPEEDSTEP_ICH (both _should_ work)
regarding suspend, I'd try apm first, unload usb, sound, network modules=20
before suspending, though.
