I had a similar problem with my t41p a few times, wavemon showed a
pattern like saw teeth, the signal was lost about every 2 seconds. It
went away without doing anything the next day, and works fine now.

I also tried different madwifi-versions that time, and all showed the
same problem, so it doesn't seem to be madwifi-version-specific.
