Other than this, I have no problems with this machine, and it happens only 
when running full bore on something like a kernel compile, and the cpu is 
locked at 100 for quite some time..

I am sure there is a more elegant solution, but I don't think I have a 
hardware problem otherwise, and this will solve the problem until I have more 
time to look into it.  I believe the term is "ugly hack"
