After futzing with the kernel compilation (2.6.7) on my T40 a bit, I've
run into a snag. I have to tell the OS to load the module psmouse at
every boot. Sure, I put it in /etc/sysconfig to have it loaded
automatically on every boot, but that feels wrong. What is the "official"
way to get that module loaded, preferably on demand?

Also, the display is blank until X starts (unselectable "--- VGA text
console" in the kernel config), but I think I can get around that. PITA
until I do.
