[ltp] Cooling fan always running

Can sombody point out for me how to properly configure my R50?
I think apm (what have to be done) and bios setup.

I have set bios to use speedstep - is there anything else i have to do?
I also have my own compiled kernel 2.6.8.1 and i think all the APM and
ACPI stuff is enabled.
