I just got a T41 with the IBM a/b/g adapter, and getting the Madwifi
driver to work was not difficult at all. I wrote my own startup script
that uses iwlist to search for my home network, and if it finds, it,
automatically apply the WEP settings... if not, it connects to the
strongest signal.

The Madwifi driver does not support WEP in restricted or preshared-key
modes, though--I had to change my access point to "Open" key sharing.
(not that much a concern, because I use OpenVPN to connect to my LAN
whenever I'm on the wireless connection).

Cheers,
