Yea, but the thinkpad is one area where people are willing to put up the 
extra $$ for a high quality laptop. I've owned cheap toshiba & gateway 
laptops in the past, but none come close the the quality of my Thinkpad. 
It'll be really sad if the quality goes downhill with a new company as I 
vowed never to purchase anything but  another thinkpad after I bought 
this one.
