Well that sucks. A lot. The one reason why I bought a thinkpad and not some=
=20
random other laptop was the "IBM" name on it, and the implications thereof.=
=20
So far I havent regretted that decision, despite its shortcomings[1],=20
compared to most of my friends laptops my T40p has proven to be way superio=
r=20
in reliability, and it lacks the random suckage that seems to affect even t=
he=20
decent brands out there.
Well, I guess that means my next laptop will be an Mac. It'll be a few year=
s=20
until then, hopefully they will have a mobile G5 and, more importantly,=20
docking stations by then. Unless, of course, whoever buys the thinkpad=20
business keeps the tradition of raw quality that IBM mostly followed now. B=
ut=20
I think we all know how likely that is.

[1] It has an ATI graphics card. Thats all the suckage you need in a laptop.

PS: Maybe, as a last gift to the community, IBM could give ATI a kick in th=
e=20
rear and tell them to make a _usable_ driver already? Please?

<Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam?
<bovril> it collects data about the surrounding environment, then discards =
it=20
and drives into walls
