the only patch that you really need is madwifi for the atheros card
(google for it; it's well documented).

I understand that acpi handles better the different power states of
the processor, saving more power when in battery (somebody correct me
here?). but , at least with 2.6.9 and my config, power consumption
when suspended is way to high for my taste.

maybe 2.6.10 is better in this regard? or anybody can suggest a
configuration that allows acpi suspension (Fn+F4) with similar power
drain than that of apm?
