Dear compaq,
thank you for trying to help.

Unfortunately changing the current "ImPS/2" protocol to either "event" 
or "usbmouse" changes the behaviour to even "worst" in the sense that 
the scrollpoint lever does not produce any visible effect anymore.

Any other ideas ?
