hi,

I use gentoo unstable with X.org 6.8.X (special updates included) on
my T40 with radeon mobility 7500 and have this one here:

# glxgears=20
3127 frames in 5.0 seconds =3D 625.400 FPS
3663 frames in 5.0 seconds =3D 732.600 FPS
3655 frames in 5.0 seconds =3D 731.000 FPS
3663 frames in 5.0 seconds =3D 732.600 FPS
3658 frames in 5.0 seconds =3D 731.600 FPS
3660 frames in 5.0 seconds =3D 732.000 FPS

I used your config and get only 730 FPS, please tell us, how did you get
such high frames.

Maybe your card has higher MHz, can you post your Gfxcard data, I can
get this from dmesg:

radeonfb: Reference=3D27.00 MHz (RefDiv=3D12) Memory=3D260.00 Mhz,
System=3D183.00 MHz
...
radeonfb: ATI Radeon LW DDR SGRAM 32 MB

Greetz

Konstantin

Building an operation system without source code,
is like buying a self assemble space shuttle without
instructions.
