Fedora core 1 installed easily on a t41, and seemed to support all the 
hardware except for the wireless card.

2 things none of the Fedora's or recent Redhats support are mp3 and 
NTFS.  You will have to go to sourceforge.net or some applicaton's web 
site for those.
