At the cost of taking the replying-to-myself theme a little too far, I
thought people might be interested to know that this problem seems to
have gone away, at least on my configuration, with 2.6.3-rc2.

I've had my X31 running X and web browsing/reading/writing email for
about an hour now without any glitches. 2.6.2 and 2.6.2-mm1 would
exhibit these problems, under similar load/use, within minutes of
booting up.

syslog is quiet, whereas it used to have messages about missed bytes
whenever the mouse burped before.  The keyboard is also behaving itself;
  earlier, it used to get stuck from time to time, as if I was holding
the key down, only I wasn't. syslog messages apparently related to that
are also gone under 2.6.3-rc2.
