[ltp] A31p bluetooth - software control?

I have a Thinkpad A31p, which has a USB BlueTooth adapter built in.

I can turn on and off the BlueTooth adapter using the button on the lid,
which is nice, but I would like to be able to turn it on and off through
software.

Has anyone managed to do this, or have any pointers about doing it?
