If the memory is bad, it had a physical problem form the get go.  The only way 
you could destroy memory by using it, would be to overvolt it if you were 
trying to overclock and you can't do that on a Thinkpad.  This would destroy 
it with heat.  Absent that, the machine should operate within spec.
