Sure. My system worked just fine through 2.5.*, and has 2.6.0 at the
moment.

I have the 802.11 card in place, and use the HostAP driver, which works
much more nicely for me than the supplied driver, but both actually
function, at least for simple tasks.

I have not used the OSS sound drivers, but ALSA is great, and I have
never tried to use the built-in software modem.

Burning a CD with the built-in drive works nicely with the IDE packet
support and the '-immed' flag to cdrecord.

XFree86 4.2 works well without DRI, or 4.3 works well with DRI. Stick
with XFree86 4.2 if you need to use TV-Out, though, since the 4.3 radeon
driver has a "milky screen" bug, which is fixed in CVS but not, I think,
in any XFree86 release.
