I keep thinking the R series is emerging as the A series
replacement. All the new R50 and R50p models are what new A series
modes were supporsed to be: they look similar to the older A31/A31p
models (15in 1400x1050 or 15in 1600x1200 displays).

Perhaps IBM is trying to redesign A series as a Wide Screen model -
with 15/17in screens - and introduce them with the new dothan (2MB L2
cache) cpu - next month? The current A31 must be one of the longest
production laptop models ever :) (no longer listed on IBM's web page)
