[ltp] pci=noacpi kernel flag

I've had finally had with ACPI on my T41 via passing the kernel flag throug=
h LILO in this manner:

append=3D"pci=3Dnoacpi"

This is defined as "... disables the use of ACPI routing information during=
 the PCI configuration stages." [1]

My question is: what effects does enabling this flag have on the system? AC=
PI appears to be functioning properly (I think ... I've had no prior expe=
rience with ACPI as this is my first modern notebook).
