ThinkPads tend to be Linux friendly.  I'm running SuSE on an R31 and it 
works well.  The only hardware issue so far is if I reboot, the next 
boot into Linux or XP freezes.  If I do a full shut down, that problem 
doesn't occur.  Beyond that, everything works.
