[ltp] A30 and diskdrives

I picked up an Hitachi Travelstar DK23EA-30, This drive is not
recognized by Linux as being present, and as far as I can tell the
recovery CD can't see it either.  I'm not sure if I have a dud.  Before
I try to return/replace it, I was wondering if anybody had any clues.
