sorry, that in this thread, but I don't have previous
1) to retrive any setting from dhcp U don't need to set any setting - 
more or less i should do everything automaticly :)
2) try to use 'laptop-net' - I don't know what is Your distributtion, 
but under debian it is and work very nice - after unplug cable it unset 
all tcp settings. after plug - it set all. nice pice of soft :)
