Having just installed the synaptics driver and played around, I find 
that I too have this internet scroll bar (i.e move the nipple whilst 
holding the blue-lined middle button to get a four directional scroll 
pointer.) Bizarrely though, I have tested it with Mozilla Thunderbird 
and Dillo, but don't get anything with Mozilla Firebird (the button 
seems to want to redirect me to my homepage.)
