Thanks for posting this link (and for other posts in this thread that 
helped me out). I now have a working centre button (I can paste between 
X apps). Additionally, installing the synaptics driver also seems to 
have solved a problem I was having where the TrackPoint (nipple) only 
worked after a warm reboot. (The TrackPad always worked.)

I guess that's that problem pretty much sorted out, but I'm sure I'll be 
back with more later. :)
