regarding problems with PCMCIA initialization under FC2. I've been able 
to use a sequence similar to the one described in comment 3:

    /sbin/modprobe yenta_socket
    /etc/init.d/pcmcia restart

to get my Wavelan PCMCIA card working. I haven't tried the other 
solutions suggested there as yet.

There are other problems specific to my Aironet 340 PCMCIA card under 
FC2 that I have yet to track down (it initializes but fails to get an IP 
address from the access point).
