I have a T41p and it works pretty nice with APM, but I'd like to go for ACPI.
In the past weeks I've been trying to get this working but with limited
success.
I didn't find much information on the T41p in this lists archive so I guess
it's save to ask ;-)
Gentoo Linux, Vanilla 2.6.7, with/without fixed DSDT, it doesn't seem to
matter, yet the AML contains 3 errors and 2 warnings when I disassemble and
recompile it.
What works is: going to S3, but only after I stopped hotplugging. I didn't try
other sleep states since I'm really only interested in S3, for now. I might
try swsusp later, I've seen some success stories regarding swsusp.
So, when I fire the system back up, the backlight goes on and that's about it.
I've had cases where even the backlight didn't want to come back on. In
either case, I can type reboot or go the sysrq way. These things work. It's
just the display that doesn't come back up.
In the Kernel, I currently have the radeon framebuffer. agpgart and dri were
deactivated in order to remove 'unneeded' possible causes for the problem.
Whatever I try (no framebuffer at all, no resolution selection, using the
vesa driver, ...) the screen doesn't come back up.
I guess, swsusp won't work either as long as this problem exists.
I hope someone had the same problem and found a solution to it or has the
exactly same hardware and can provide me with his/her configs.
