[ltp] Alsa Midi again (still?)

I've been fighting Alsa for quite some time now.
No doubt about it, Alsa is winning!
This is a Thinkpad 770Z.
The .wav sound is very nice, xmms (wav) and totem ( avi, mp2, mp3 ).
Midi is a total no show and the only hint that I have is three messages
that appear for about 150ms. at the end of show details on loading.
This is just a !@#$ tease, the error? messages don't stay long enough
to make any sense and they don't appear in /var/log/messages or dmesg.
If you can think of anything that I am missing please let me know.
